Dr. Laundette Jones, Advisor

Dr. Laundette Jones holds pivotal roles as Deputy Director of the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) Program in Health Equity and Population Health and as Associate Director of Community and Social Impact at the Center for Epigenetic Research in Child Health and Brain Development (CERCH) within UMSOM. Her proficiency in cultivating community-academic partnerships and devising effective research protocols for community settings is a significant asset to this project. Dr. Jones possesses a profound grasp of the challenges marginalized communities face, emphasizing the importance of collaborative strategies to combat health disparities. With a blend of biomedical and public health acumen, she takes a holistic view of the complex interplay between biology, environment, and societal factors that drive health disparities. Employing a participatory research approach, she merges local community insights with academic research to formulate context-specific strategies for mitigating health disparities.
