After 21 years public service as an elected official, Helen reimagined reality and now works with executives, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders as a certified and credentialed professional coach, trainer, speaker, and thought leader. Committed to moving the needle towards a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable (DEI) world she leads from an intercultural perspective on local events with global impact focused on intersections of race, gender, political power, and privilege. As an elected official for more than two decades she brings a wealth of knowledge, information, and expertise to support the mission of The Binti Circle.  As a board member of the National Association of Counties (NACo), National Association of Black County Officials (NABCO), and National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) Helen broadened her perspective on common issues of concern across the nation, while expanding her outreach and networks. A three-time recipient of Maryland’s Top 100 Women placed her in the Circle of Excellence as a sustaining outstanding leader committed to making an impact through her leadership, community service and mentoring.
